The Siemens 6ES7431-1KF20-0AB0 (SM 431) is an analog input module for the SIMATIC S7-400 PLC family, providing 8 analog inputs with 13-bit resolution (including sign) for temperature and voltage measurements . It supports resistance thermometer (RTD) types including PT100, Ni100, and PT200 with linearization, as well as various thermocouple types (B, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, U) with internal or external compensation . It also supports voltage measurement ranges (0-80mV, ±80mV, 0-250mV, ±250mV, 0-1V, ±1V) . Conversion time is approximately 20 ms per channel for temperature measurements . The inputs are electrically isolated in groups of 8 channels, with a backplane bus current consumption of 300 mA . The module supports programmable diagnostic interrupts and includes a front connector for wiring (screw-type terminals sold separately) . Suitable for use in S7-400 racks, it has a discontinued lifecycle status (PM410) and is intended as a spare part for legacy temperature monitoring systems .
